BHT Sussex offer free services in Brighton, East Sussex and West Sussex. Support includes mental health, addiction and housing advice services. Many of their services require a referral, however, for drop-in services they offer advice services and a Day Centre in Brighton.

First Base Day Centre - BHT Sussex

First Base Day Centre offers vital facilities and dedicated Case Worker support for anyone rough sleeping in Brighton & Hove. Often the first point of contact, it acts as a hub for multiple services, helping people navigate support, break down barriers, and move off the streets as quickly as possible. The team focuses on dignity, safety, and hope, ensuring no one has to sleep rough longer than necessary.

What they provide:

Hot home-cooked meals, showers, laundry, and secure lockers

A named Case Worker for every client

Accommodation referrals and reconnection support

Specialist health clinics: nursing, mental health, physio, optometry, dentistry, liver scans

Phone and IT access

Help with benefits, training, and employment

Leisure activities and OT student placements

A “care of” postal address

First Base gives people the support, stability, and respect they need to take the next step toward safer, more secure living.
